How to Tie Pointe Shoes – Like a pro
Are you tired of spending precious minutes mid-class struggling to tie your pointe shoes? Do you find that most tutorials just don’t cut it when it comes to speed and efficiency? Look no further! My latest YouTube video is here to completely change and dare I say improve the way you tie your pointe shoes.
I have come across so many videos of dancers and teachers showing you how to tie your pointe shoes online. The only problem is that they are teaching it wrong – in my opinion. Okay, maybe that is a bit harsh, but in truth why would you want to have to keep holding the one ribbon in place while you wrap the other one, when I have a way that just makes so much more sense!
I learnt this tip from a dear teacher I was training with many years ago and it changed my life – literally! The way I used to tie my shoes just no longer made sense and my tying time got cut down by many seconds – which really counts during an exam or mid-performance.
One of the key elements we cover is the placement of the knot or bow (depending on what you prefer). Many dancers overlook this crucial step, but the position of your knot can greatly impact both comfort and security. Tying the knot in the wrong place can cause discomfort and even injury – which is something you just can’t afford to happen. In this video, I show you exactly where to place the knot/bow for maximum security and comfort, ensuring your shoes stay in place throughout your practice or performance.
Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll learn:
- Efficient Ribbon Tying: Save time without sacrificing security.
- Optimal Knot Placement: Discover the best spot for your knot to enhance comfort and stability.
- Step-by-Step Guidance: Follow along with clear, easy-to-understand instructions from a birds-eye view
Don’t let poorly tied pointe shoes hold you back. Watch my latest video and master the quickest way to tie your pointe shoes. Your class mates will thank you – and so will your teacher!
